Mold Tips

  • Be sure wet or damp materials dry quickly, within 24-48 hours after a leak or flood
  • Keep indoor humidity low, ideally between 30- 50% relative humidity
  • Vent all bathrooms and clothes dryers to the outside
  • Use air conditioning, dehumidifiers, or ideally a 3 in 1 ventilation system
  • Clean and repair roof gutters regularly
  • Keep air conditioning drip pans cleaned
  • Inspect and take steps to prevent leakage around windows and doors
  • Add insulation around windows, pipes, exterior walls, or floors to reduce condensation
